Our Stories

Adrienne & Agni Mitra

Our daughter was adopted from Agni’s home city of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India. Like many adoptive parents, our trip was filled with incredible moments of joy and a few struggles, coupled with first-time parent jitters. We are both very well traveled, but this was Adrienne’s first visit to India, and we were keenly aware that this trip to bring our daughter home was uncharted territory for us all. We remember impatiently waiting for our ICPC approval and passport issuance, clutching the baby’s referral picture all the while. At one point we were so desperate to leave that we had half a dozen different reservations in place, awaiting our approval to travel.  We recently returned to Kolkata to receive our second child, a son.

Our own adoption trips, along with everything we’ve learned from other adoptive parents about their travels, was the inspiration behind Celebrations International Travel. Having been through this experience, we understand what adoption travel involves and how important an event it is for your family. We are of the firm belief that everyone should pay a fair price no matter how tight your timeframe may be, and your family’s adoption travel needs should be handled with the utmost care and compassion.

Our long-range goal is to establish a non-profit foundation to provide assistance with adoption costs, in the hopes that others will have the chance to experience the same joy that our daughter has brought us. We wish for all waiting families a smooth and speedy process and a happy homecoming.

Stella & Rory Crozier

Our daughter was adopted from Guangxi Province in China. Just like the other adoptive parents in our group, we were filled with both joy and anxiety. This was our first trip overseas, and it was definitely a big adventure. From the moment we received our daughter’s referral picture we only had six weeks to plan flights, pack, repack, get visas, and get all of our documents in order.

Our journey to China to pick up our daughter was such a wonderful experience filled with sightseeing and lots of adoption paperwork that we are soon to travel to Taiwan to adopt again. Having a great time on our first adoption trip inspired us to get involved in travel, and especially adoption travel.

Our mission is to help other parents to get to their destination as easily as possible so that they may pick up their newest family member.
